China Bloggers Arrested. Why are we surprised?

The new hot topic this week is the arrest of bloggers and podcasters James Powderly, Brian Conley, Jeffrey Rae, Jeff Goldin, Michael Liss, and Tom Grant while covering a protest by the group Students for a Free Tibet, who were protesting in China.

I was going to write a very in-depth post about the situation, and citizen journalism and it’s role in the world, but my friends at the Push My Follow podcast had a really great discussion with Dan Patterson (@creepysleepy, and soon to be employed by ABC News) about these very topics.
